Senior apparel designers to showcase work Dec. 10

Two senior textile and apparel design majors in the College of Education and Human Sciences will show their collections Dec. 10 in a runway exhibition titled "Solstice: The Senior Collections of Kendra Benson and Abby Woodring."

The exhibition begins at 7 p.m. in the Johnny Carson Theater. Benson's and Woodring's undergraduate work will be on display before the runway shows, and a reception honoring the designers will follow.

Benson's collection, "Gypsy Maps," features detailed separates inspired by nature's textures, Benson's travels, and the 1970s rock and roll lifestyle.

Woodring's collection, "Pulse of a Woman," includes romance-inspired garments with details evoking the 1890s but without abundant ruffles, lace, and ribbons.

Benson is from Emma, Mo. Wooding is from Blair.

The event is free and open to the public.
