Star Art project includes additional campus ties

 UNIVERSITY COMMUNICATIONS

The YWCA-sponsored Star Art project includes two pieces sponsored by university individuals and two others designed by recent UNL employees.

The UNL Faculty Women's Club - along with Chris Zygielbaum - are sponsors to "Starburst," designed by the Piecemakers and Gay Gallup. "Starburst" is on display at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 8500 Pioneers Blvd.

Art and Chris Zygielbaum are co-sponsors for "Simple Europe," designed by Charles Muff. "Simple Europe" is on display at First-Plymouth Congregational Church, 20th and D streets. Art Zygielbaum, formerly with the College of Education and Human Sciences, is a UNL student.

Individually, Dika Eckersley and Mary Kolar -- both recent university employees - have entries in the project.

Eckersley designed "Pas de Deux," on display at the Teacher's Fountain, 27th and Capitol Parkway. Eckersley recently retired from University Press.

Kolar designed "Star Gazer" which is on display at the BryanLGH Pine Lake Medical Plaza, 3901 Pine Lake Road. Kolar was employed with Southeast Extension and Research.

In addition, one star sculpture has been placed on campus. "Cascade," by Shannon Hansen is located at 12th and R streets.
