To further campus discussion on general education reform, Peggy Maki, a higher education consultant, will offer a discussion on assessing student achievement from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Feb. 21 in the Nebraska Union Auditorium.
Maki's presentation, "Assessing for Learning: Building a Collective Commitment to Assessing Student Achievement," will outline the collaborative tasks that underlie a sustainable commitment to assessing student learning and the reasons why assessment is essential.
Maki is a specialist in helping institutions integrate student learning assessments into educational practices.
The discussion is free and open to the public. For information on Maki's lecture or UNL's general education reform, go online to www.unl.edu/svcaa/gened.
