STAIRWAY SCULPTURE

 

These cast iron stairway balusters were made by Louis Sullivan in 1899. They were a part of the Carson, Pirie, Scott and Co. Building in Chicago, but are now on display in the Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery’s sculpture garden. Carson, Pirie, Scott and Co. donated the balusters to UNL through the Art Institute of Chicago.
