Del Rey will offer two bilingual concerts at UNL. The first concert - 7 p.m. May 1 in the Great Plains Room of the East Union - is part of the Lied Center's East Campus series. The second event - 7 p.m. May 4 - will be featured on the Lied Center's main stage as part of the LiedFamFest.

As part of the Lied Center's adventurelied program, Del Ray is taking part in two Women: POV sessions. The first was on April 26. The second is a free public discussion 3 p.m. May 2 at the Hispanic Community Center, 2300 O St. Women: POV sessions feature distinctive women in the arts who have a particular point of view on contemporary issues.

Del Rey will also reach out to area communities. As part of the Arts Across Nebraska series, she will travel to schools in Lincoln, Norfolk, Lexington and Crete to work with students and perform for the public.

Del Rey's shows combine movement, music, and language and young and old will delight in learning new songs that children from Latin America know and love. All material is in Spanish and English to reach a wide audience.

Del Rey has lectured at numerous colleges including Cal State Northridge, and created residencies in Manhattan, Bronx, and Harlem sponsored by the Carnegie Corporation Centennial Program in association with the New York Public Library. Del Rey was recently invited to sing at the closing ceremonies of the United Nations Global Peace Initiative for Women in Switzerland.

Del Rey's May 4 performance is a part of the Lied Center's family series. Expanding on the family atmosphere, the Lied will host LiedFamFest - a family friendly party with free snacks, refreshments, entertainment and hands-on activities - 90 minutes before the performance.

Tickets for the performance are $12 and half price for students with a valid NCard or those 18 and younger.
