The exhibition, "The Corset: From Underwear to Outerwear," is on display through Feb. 8.

Stapp's thesis research includes historic study of the corset with contemporary interpretations. She resear-ched women throughout history, such as Joan of Arc, whose ensemble is titled "The Warrior," to find specific inspiration for each individual corset. She selected different techniques, materials and silhouettes as a result of her examination of the biographical and visual aspects of seven women. She found inspiration from sources as varied as the "The Little Dancer," by Degas at the Joslyn Art Museum, to Coco Chanel, Marie Antoinette, Cleopatra and back to herself as the wife of an Army reservist called to duty.

Stapp designs women's formal apparel under the label Sabrina Jones. Her thesis advisers are UNL textiles faculty Barbara Trout, Wendy Weiss and Janice Stauffer.
