Pacino stars in Merchant of Venice opening March 4

Opening at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center on March 4, The Merchant of Venice features a high caliber cast headed by Academy Award winning actor Al Pacino in the role of Shylock. The movie was written and directed by Academy Award nominee and BAFTA winner Michael Radford (Il Postino).

A free "movie talk" discussion led by several local Shakespeare scholars and focusing on various issues raised by Shakespeare productions on the stage and on the screen, begins at 4:30 p.m. March 6 immediately following the 1:55 p.m. screening. The talk is open to the public without charge and is hosted by the Friends of the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center. The discussion will be held in the UNL Visitors Center atrium.

The Merchant of Venice is showing at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center on March 4 through March 17. The Merchant of Venice is rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America.
