First Friday features 'Winter Escape' Dec. 1 Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery's Dec. 1 First Friday reception, Winter Escape, features the UNL School of Music's Chamber Singers performing in the Great Hall. Decorations - featuring penguins and polar bears - appetizers, a cash bar and American art welcome visitors to this festive evening. The event runs from 5-7 p.m. The First Friday receptions precede openings at participating downtown galleries. The event is free and open to the public.
