'Jesus Camp' plays the Ross

The documentary "Jesus Camp" is showing at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center.

Directed by Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady, "Jesus Camp" follows a group of young children to Pastor Becky Fischer's Kids on Fire summer camp in Devil's Lake, North Dakota. At the camp, kids as young as 6 years old are taught to become dedicated Christian soldiers in God's army.

The film follows these children at camp as they hone their prophetic gifts and are schooled in how to take back America for Christ. The film is a first-ever look into an intense training ground that recruits born-again Christian children to become active in America's political future.

Also playing at the Ross is "Half Nelson," a story about a friendship between a quiet teen and a drug-addicted teacher.

"Half Nelson" (rated R) and "Jesus Camp" (rated PG-13) are showing through Dec. 21. For more information, including show times, go online to www.theross.org or call 472-5353.
