Moscow Festival Ballet presents 'Cinderella' performance Jan. 25

The magic and fantasy of the fairy tale "Cinderella" comes to life at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 25 as the Moscow Festival Ballet takes the stage at the Lied Center for Performing Arts.

"Cinderella" is a full-length ballet in three acts, featuring music by Prokofiev and choreography by Rostislav.

Combining elements from the Bolshoi and Kirov ballet companies, Moscow Festival Ballet Company was formed in 1989. Founded by Sergei Radchenko of the Bolshoi Ballet, the company brings together 50 dancers from across Russia to perform 20th-century, full-length ballets. Moscow Festival Ballet has performed around the world.

A pre-performance talk featuring Sarah Brown, a UNL dance faculty member, and Michel Schaller, company manager of the Moscow Festival Ballet, is offered at 7 p.m. in the Lied Center's Steinhart Room. Seating is limited.

Tickets are $39, $34 and $29. UNL students with a valid NCard and youth 18 and younger may purchase tickets for half price.
