'Thoroughly Modern' showcase is April 27

The School of Music will present "Thoroughly Modern: A Showcase of New Musical Theatre Scenes" at 7:30 p.m. April 27 in Westbrook Music Building, room 119.

A dozen graduate and undergraduate music and theatre majors will present a revue of musical theatre scenes, accompanied by doctoral student Nelson Neves on the piano. The showcase revue will be hosted by Alisa Belflower, coordinator of musical theatre studies. Belflower will introduce each scene and guide the audience through the new musical works.

Six award-winning musical theatre composers from New York City have contributed songs to the showcase.

The event is intended for adult audiences. Admission is free with no tickets required.
