Oct. 6 panel to discuss working as an artist

The panel discussion, "Working as an Artist in Nebraska," is 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery.

Panelists include UNL professors Gerald Shapiro (English), Mary Stillwell (English) and Tyler Goodrich White (Music). Other panelists are Ann Gradwohl, Tim Guthrie and Troy Muller.

The program will cover the arts industry, how successful professional artists manage their careers, and what the real world is like after graduation. A question and answer session will follow the discussion.

The panel will be moderated by J.D. Hutton, artist services and communications manager for the Nebraska Arts Council.

The event is free and open to the public.
