• Custodial Services was named an Employer of the Year by the State Rehabilitation Council for helping teach custodial practices to clients of the Nebraska Department of Vocational Rehabilitation Service.
• Landscape Services received the Continued Excellence in Recycling Award from WasteCap Nebraska.
• Mila Saskova-Pierce and Eyde Olson won the 2008 Innovations and Contributions award from the University Continuing Education Association Great Plains Region. The award was for moving Saskova-Pierce’s Czech 101 course online.
• The Latino Research Initiative at UNL received the Organization Award from the Mexican-American Commission and the Hispanic Heritage Month State Commemoration Planning Committee.
• Three NET projects took top honors during the National Educational Telecommunications Association’s annual awards program. Those projects were the “Crane Song” press kit (best large-market national promotion), “Inspire Nebraska” print piece (best corporate/institutional promotion), and “Price of Water” (best science and nature documentary, large market).
