India quilts lecture is Oct. 24
Oct 21st, 2010 | By tfedderson2 | Category: Arts & Entertainment, Oct. 21Anjali Karolia, a visiting Fulbright scholar from India, will discuss the history, significance and intricacies of embroidery techniques of her home country at 2 p.m., Oct. 24 at the International Quilt Study Center and Museum.
Karolia is teaching in the Textiles, Clothing and Design department this semester as a Fulbright Nehru Visiting Lecturer. Karolia is head of the Department of Clothing and Textiles at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in Vadodara, India.
The lecture coincides with the museum’s exhibition “South Asian Seams: Quilts from India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.”
