Orchestra to play at Lied

The Lied Center for Performing Arts will present the Nebraska Jazz Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 7 as part of the Nebraska Artists Series. Joining the orchestra will be vocalist Kelly Ellenwood.

Concerts by the Nebraska Jazz Orchestra have featured a variety of traditional big band masterpieces by the likes of Woody Herman, Duke Ellington and Count Basie. Ellenwood has starred on Broadway and received her bachelor of music degree from UNL.

A pre-performance talk will be offered at 7 p.m. in the Lied's Steinhart Room.

Tickets are $28/$24/$20; tickets are half price for UNL students and children. Call 472-4747 for tickets.
