The Nebraska Repertory Theatre, the professional wing of the UNL Department of Theatre Arts, will hold auditions in Lincoln for its 2005 season from 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 12 in the Temple Building, 12th and R streets.
Actors are asked to prepare two contrasting contemporary monologues not to exceed four minutes. Actors may also prepare up to 16 bars of an up-tempo song. If auditioning for the character of Virgil Blessing in Bus Stop, actors should bring a guitar and be prepared to play. The Nebraska Repertory Theatre operates under an Actors' Equity Association URTA contract, but is casting both Equity and non-Equity actors. All roles are still available and actors will be cast in multiple shows.
The proposed 2005 season is Bus Stop by William Inge, Resident Alien by Stuart Spencer, and Androcles and the Lion by Aurand Harris. These three proposed productions will be performed in true repertory fashion beginning July 8 and closing Aug. 7. Rehearsals will begin in mid-June.
