FREE AT 6 - The Lincoln-based dance troupe Grupo Folklorico Sangre Azteca will perform 6 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Lied Center. The performance is free.

Sangre Azteca was formed in April 2002 as an extension of Proyecto Cultural, an educational project in Lincoln, to bring Hispanic culture to the community through their authentic dances and costumes from Mexico. There are 33 performing members in the group, including a vocalist. Sangre Azteca has performed at conventions, meetings, social events, ethnic festivals, etc.

Free at 6 was created to recognize and celebrate the rich range of artistic talent in the community and to open the doors of the Lied Center to a wider audience. Free at 6 programs, 45 minutes in length, will give local artists a venue to build support for their art while encouraging the participation of new audiences.

The remaining 2005-2006 Free at 6 events are the Gospel Mass Choir on Feb. 3, and Paul Haar on March 27.
