Giesecke to serve as interim vice chancellor of EE&O
Jan 13th, 2010 | By tfedderson2 | Category: Employee News, Issue, January 14, 2010Joan Giesecke, dean of libraries, was named interim associate vice chancellor for extended education and outreach by Ellen Weissinger, interim senior vice chancellor for academic affairs. The appointment was effective Jan. 8.
Giesecke will assume leadership of all EEO functions until the university conducts a national search and hires a new administrator for the unit.
Giesecke has served as dean of libraries since 1996 and will continue in that role. She also served as interim director of the University of Nebraska Press.
Giesecke succeeds Paul Savory who has left Extended Education and Summer Sessions to return to his faculty position in the College of Engineering.
