The Great Plains Art Museum is featuring the second set of images captured by four UNL photographers who spent summer 2009 documenting the economic upheaval in Nebraska caused by the current recession.

The photographs in “Searching for the Real Nebraska: A Photo Essay on the Great Recession” were taken by associate professor Bruce Thorson (news-editorial) and photojournalism students Patrick Breen, Clay Lomneth and Kyle Bruggeman. The group traveled across Nebraska in a camping trailer, keeping a Web log of their experiences. The blog is available at http://go.unl.edu/pow.

The photo exhibition at the Great Plains Art Museum is open though Feb. 28. A First Friday reception is from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 5. The museum, including the reception, is free and open to the public.
