  Nebraska Repertory Theatre sets schedule

The Guys, Tenor, Lewis and Clark plays on tap

The Nebraska Repertory Theatre, UNL’s professional wing, has announced its summer schedule:

• The Guys and Lend Me a Tenor will be performed as part of its regular season. The Guys will run June 8-11 and 17-19, and Lend Me a Tenor will run June 1-4, 12, 15 and 16. Both will be in Howell Theatre.

• The Nebraska Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Signature Event Ink and Elk Skin (working title) will be presented in Omaha’s Elmwood Park on July 31 and Aug. 1-4.

The Guys is a two-person play based on the true story of journalist Anne Nelson’s experience assisting a fire captain write eulogies for his fallen men lost in the World Trade Center disaster.

Lend Me a Tenor tells of world-famous tenor Tito Morelli, who is set to perform Otello at the gala season-opener. When he passes out and is presumed dead, Max, an aspiring singer, is persuaded to get into Morelli’s costume to try to fool the audience. But when Morelli comes to, there are two Otellos running around.

Ink and Elk Skin is a 45-minute one-act drama written by Chicago playwright Carson Grace Becker for this event and is about the first Tribal Council meeting.

Tickets for The Guys and Lend Me a Tenor will go on sale April 15.
