Local Artists Encouraged to Apply for Free at 6 Series

The Lied Center is taking applications from Lincoln/Lancaster County artists interested in being featured in its Free at 6 series.

All disciplines of performance art will be considered for Free at 6. Individuals or groups are encouraged to apply. Artists need not be professionals, but are required to have a demonstrated performance abilities, such as previous public performances or recordings. Submit a sample of performance on audiotape, CD, videotape, or DVD as well as a current resume and other publicity information. There will be no live auditions. Applicants can call the Lied Center at (402) 472-4700 for more information or visit to download an application. Applications must be returned to the Lied Center or postmarked by 5 p.m. March 1.

Free at 6 was created to recognize and celebrate the rich range of artistic talent in the community and to open the doors of the Lied Center to a wider audience. Free at 6 programs, 45 minutes in length, will give local artists a venue to build support for their art while encouraging the participation of new audiences.
