Family day at Sheldon March 26

Kids, grandchildren and families are welcome at an afternoon of creative activity March 26 at the Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery. The free event will be from 1 to 4 p.m. at the gallery.

The afternoon will allow families to learn through hands-on activities and take-home projects. Activities designed primarily for third- through sixth-graders will encourage children to use their creative minds when thinking about sculpture, paintings and architecture in the world-class collections at the Sheldon Gallery. Children will hear stories and read books about art creation and inspirational ideas.

Artists on hand to help with the day's events include: Margaret Berry, Liz Shea-McCoy, Ruth Lake, Susan Carlson, Peg Pelter, Naoka Fujimoto, Barb Mattley, Clarisse Hastie, Lynn Doser, Carren Miller, Pat Engelhard, Sarah Lamphere & Co., Julie Smith, David Sockridr and Tracy Shell.
