'Last Year on the Farm' exhibit extended through March 27

The Great Plains Art Museum has extended through March 27 the exhibition of Texas artist V.... Vaughan's daily plein air paintings documenting the last days on her family's multi-generational farm.

Vaughan lived and painted on her farm near Austin, Texas, for the past 30 years, but the land is now in the hands of suburban developers. These daily plein air paintings reveal the seasons of change in her last year on these 200 acres of farmland.

The plein air paintings are part of the exhibit, "Last Year on the Farm," which also includes Vaughan's five '24-in-24' series (24 paintings in 24 hours). That series is committed to the Bone Creek Museum of Agrarian Art in David City, and will close at the original planned closing date of March 14.
