Poetry series begins Sept. 13
Sep 11th, 2008 | By tfedderson2 | Category: Arts & Entertainment, September 11, 2008The third season of the Clean Part Poetry Reading series opens Sept. 13 with Laynie Brown and Ange Mlinko. The event begins at 7 p.m. in the Sheldon Museum of Art’s Ethel S. Abbott auditorium.
The monthly series showcases innovative poets from across the nation. This fall’s series is curated by Anthony Hawley, professor of English at UNL.
The series continues at 7p.m., Oct 7 at the Sheldon with Peter Gizzi and Julie Carr. Gizzi, a professor of creative writing at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, is one of the leading figures in contemporary American poetry.
Other readings in the series include: Nov. 8, 7 p.m., Katy Lederer and Kazim Ali; and Dec. 13, 7 p.m., Sasha Steensen, Eric Baus, The Pines.
All programs are free an open to the public. Sheldons galleries will also be open for the events.
