Paul elected AAAs fellow

Paul was cited for his contributions to animal health through research on viral pathogenesis of respiratory and reproductive diseases that led to improved vaccines and diagnostic tests. He was selected as part of AAAS’s Agriculture, Food and Renewable Resources Section.

Paul’s scientific expertise is in animal virology, particularly swine viruses. Before joining UNL in 2001, Paul was a veterinary medical scientist and administrator at Iowa State University and earlier was the veterinary medical officer at the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Animal Disease Center in Ames, Iowa.
Paul was one of 486 AAAS members selected for the honor this year. This year’s fellows were announced in the Dec. 19 issue of the international journal Science. New fellows will be recognized in February at the 2009 AAAS annual meeting in Chicago.
