A list of sustainability initiatives already in place at UNL has expanded. Released in April, the original list included more than 70 earth-sustaining projects and practices offered on campus.

The expanded list includes both the Chancellor’s Commission on Environmental Sustainability and the Housing Dining Services’ “Good. Fresh. Local.” program.

Also on the list is the addition of recycling stations in Campus Recreation facilities. The program – funded through a $43,901 grant from the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality – added 80 new recycling stations for plastic bottles, aluminum cans, mixed paper, newspaper and trash. The program has been in place for three weeks.
