Confucius Institute organizes tour of China for educators
Nov 6th, 2008 | By tfedderson2 | Category: Campus News, November 6, 2008The Confucius Institute at UNL has organized a group of 15 Nebraska educational leaders to take a Chinese language and culture tour in China, Oct. 26 to Nov. 8. The tour is sponsored by UNL; a Chinese Bridge Fund from Hanban (the Office of Chinese Language Council International), a branch of Chinese Ministry of Education; and Xi’an Jiaotong University, the partner university of the UNL Confucius Institute.
UNL members of the group include Marjorie Kostelnnik, dean of Education and Human Sciences, and David Lou, director of the UNL Confucius Institute.
The purpose of the tour is to promote educational collaboration and exchange between American and Chinese schools and explore ways to expand bilingual curriculum to include Chinese language in Nebraska public schools.
