Eklund to help celebrate Mozart's 250th birthday

The 250th anniversary of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's birthday is Jan. 27.

NET Radio will mark the event with a special "All-Mozart hour of classics," 2 to 3 p.m., during the "Classics by Request" series.

Peter Eklund from the UNL School of Music will join host Lora Black as a special guest for the celebration. An hour featuring Mozart's top 10 - as determined by Eklund and Black - will be featured during the broadcast, available at 91.1 FM in Lincoln.

The celebration has already begun at "Performance Today," with the series broadcasting from Salzburg all week.

The city of Salzburg is flooded with world-class musicians gathered for Mozart Week and a number of them will participate in a special two-hour broadcast of "Performance Today" Jan. 27, at 8 p.m.
