Lied to host Winnipeg Ballet troupe

The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Canada's premier ballet company, will perform "The Magic Flute" 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Lied Center for Performing Arts.

The performance blends Mozart's classic opera with Mark Gooden's inventive choreography - ranging from traditional ballet to modern dance.

The Royal Winnipeg Ballet first began to tour Canada in 1945 and completed its first American tour in 1954.

André Lewis, artistic director for Royal Winnipeg Ballet, will present a pre-performance talk in the Lied's Steinhart Room 30 minutes prior to curtain. Seating is limited.

Tickets for this performance are $38, $33, and $28. UNL students with a valid Ncard and youth 18 and younger can purchase tickets for half price.

Call 472-4747 for more information.
