Osher Institute offers six-week series

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute will offer a six-week study series titled "Looking at the Arts," Feb. 1 through March 8. The series will give participants the opportunity to consider the role that art plays in the lives of members of the Lincoln community.

Norman Geske, director emeritus of the Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery, will conduct the series. Geske came to UNL in 1950 as assistant director of the university art galleries and became director in 1956. Geske was involved in the creation of the Sheldon and served as its director until his retirement in 1983.

The series meets Wednesdays from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Sheldon. For OLLI membership and registration, call 472-6265. Additional information is available online http://manila.unl.edu/olli.
